College Counselor Opening

The American School of Guatemala (CAG) is tentatively recruiting a College Counselor to join its team. This role is currently listed with a potential start date of July 2026.

The Role and Student Profile

You would be making up a 3-person team in a rigorous college preparatory lab school environment, working with 9th-12th. Graduating classes are usually 125 learners per year.

The student population has a strong focus on international matriculation:

The majority of applicants matriculate at US universities.

European and Spanish-speaking countries (including institutions within Guatemala) represent significant matriculation destinations as well.

Priority Candidate Experience

Candidates with US-based college counselor experience and/or college admissions experience are sought, the following is also highly beneficial:

Experience working with a significant HALI population (15 per grade level)—students who are academically advanced and require tailored counseling.
